January 27 - 30 - The Diamond State Corvette Club attended the Daytona Rolex 24 Hour
Race. Corvette enthusiasts were treated to two entries Team MBR Racing number 07,
sponsored by Texas Heart Institute, and MCM Racing's number 19 Black Flag.
Members of DSCC received a special visit by Michael Baughman, owner of Team MBR,
along with members of his race organization. It was great to visit with Mike and the team.
Unfortunately around lap 144, while running very competitive lap times, the 07 car spun
out, damaging the right rear halfshaft and transmission. The team did an awesome job of
replacing the transmission and getting the car back out on the track. Unfortunately,
after lap 201 another car collided with the 07 once again damaging the transmission,
this time terminally. Team MBR finished a respectable 22nd in the GT Class.
